Why do teenagers feel the need to have sex or have so many partners?

What are parents and schools doing to promote abstinence or safe sex?
If teenagers know that having multiple partners can expose you to many STD’s that may even
lead to AIDS, why are they have unprotected sex?
What does the community need to do to encourage teenagers to do other things besides engaging in sexual behavior?
